The Purple Forest

The purple forest trees
Begged nicely with a please
For you and I to paint
Their leaves pale green
We have left it to the light
In the darkest of the night
For the moon to dress them fancily
And yet quite lean
Upon the break of day
As we were well upon way
The trees bowed down
As if before a queen
They thanked us quickly so
As if we didn't know
There beauty has always been
And forever seen
