Marble left Phillip in bed to nap. Being a bear and not being able to hibernate in the civilized world, daily mid-afternoon naps have really worked out well for him. Marble set the timer for 10 minutes and rushed back in with ideas of how they could conquer the afternoon. The moment she set foot into her room, her heart stopped. He was not tucked in, head above blanket, liked she left him. Panicked, she lifted the sheet up, which Phillip often used to make a teddy bear cave with, and yet again, nothing. She knew what had to be done. She knew where she had to go. She swallowed her fear, which was bigger than she, and prepared her self for what fate may be lay waiting for her under the bed.
Marble could not avoid the inevitable any longer. Armed with her flashlight and the courage her morning bowl of cereal fueled her with, she went back to her room to look under the bed. Oh how she hated that her fear allowed him to remain missing all through the night, but somehow she hoped Phillip had maybe slept walked into the woods and would show up next to her when she awoke the next morning. It doesn't matter now, all that is important is that she take action. Laying her head down on the floor next to her bed, she grabbed the blanket. Just as she was about to lift it up, a chittering noise was heard. They were there, just on the other side, she just knew it. Phillip needed her and that was all she needed to lift the blanket up and face the dust bunnies. Sure enough they were there. No wait! There was only one. As soon as she opened her mouth to ask if it had seen her teddy bear, it chittered its teeth 3 times and disappeared down the hole under her bed. Great, now she will need to find some rope and super climber courage.
